Qatar Resumes Full Maritime Navigation for All Vessels Starting April 12
The ministry confirmed that maritime traffic will be permitted under a set daily schedule, with operations running from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time (0300–1500 GMT). Officials described the move as a full return to normal navigation activity for commercial and private maritime vessels.
In addition, fishing vessels licensed for operations will continue to be allowed to sail throughout the day without time restrictions, consistent with previously issued guidance.
The Ministry of Transport stated:
“The MOT announces the full return of maritime navigation for all types of maritime vessels and ships, as of Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 06.00 am (0300GMT) to 06.00 pm (1500GMT),”
Authorities also urged all maritime operators to strictly follow safety regulations and ensure compliance with navigation rules as operations resume.
The announcement signals a return to more regular maritime activity after a period of restricted or adjusted movement in national waters.
